Literacy Partners FAQs
If I received a grant of $2,500 or more, what items do I have to report on?
All three of the items listed above that are due by September 30th annually – the Impact Report and the two different stories (Impact Story and Human Interest Story)
What is the difference between the Impact Story and the Human-Interest Story?
The Impact Story is intended to communicate the impact the grant funds had on your organization. Whereas. the Human Interest Story is a story specific to an individual in your organization (student, teacher, prior student, etc). Click on each story to get more details and an example to help guide you.
What time period am I reporting on?
The reporting time period is from receipt of the grant to September 30th.
What if I plan to use the funds for the current school year?
That’s okay! We know the timeline isn’t ideal for schools. In the Impact Report, note that you are reporting on the intended use and projected outcomes.
What if I have not fully utilized all the grant funds prior to the reporting deadline?
That’s okay! We at least need to know the plan for how the funds will be used, and a new reporting deadline needs to be approved. Please email chandler@championsforlit.org if this is the case.
What if I am not sure how to utilize the grant funds?
Give us a call and we’ll share some of the awesome ways our other partners are utilizing the funds and help you find an appropriate use.
What happens if I don’t submit the reports on time?
We understand things come up, but let us know if you foresee that as the case. We take timeliness and quality of reporting into consideration when deciding who we will partner with in future years.
If I am allocating the grant funds to Summer Intervention or Embedded Programming, can the funds be used for ALL expenses related to the intervention?
Unfortunately, no. The grant funds are intended to be for literacy resources specifically being used to help increase literacy rates, and therefore items like cleaning supplies, meals, and general classroom supplies do not fit into our qualified uses.
