What kind of literacy work do you send funds to?
The funds we generate through teams, athletes, and corporate sponsors support the work of literacy organizations working with students grades K-3rd with an 80% or higher population below the poverty line. Further, those organizations must show measurable literacy gains from their work with students, utilizing evidence-based literacy intervention approaches such as tutoring, summer slide programming, and/or book access.
Do you keep a percentage of the funds raised through teams, athletes, and corporate sponsors?
No, we keep a 100% Impact Promise with those partners. Any funds not committed to funding the operating costs of Champions for Literacy will benefit students on their journey to becoming strong readers.
How do you fund your operating costs?
We invite individuals, families, corporate sponsors, and foundations to support our operating costs as an organization so that dollars generated through Fight for Literacy Games and Impact Player Campaigns can directly support literacy programming across the country. To inquire about joining the support team that funds our operating costs, please email Jason Baker, Executive Director, jason@championsforlit.org.
